Charry Shakti OM

Born in Colorado, growing up in San Diego, all I wanted to do was live in the sunshine, soak up the rays, and move my body.
I had the mountains and the ocean as my equal inspirations. I was born into a family of skiers, while growing up with the salt and the sea for my backyard playground. (I still need the mountains for my higher inspirations and the ocean for my healing.)

Within this setting, I played all sorts of sports. My mom fueled my passion for play and female empowerment. After all, she was never able to play sports- they were just for boys back then.

Title IX came and changed the landscape for myself and countless others. It changed the dialog for our girls and changed the economy for youth sports.

Suddenly, it became more meaningful to be good at play.

It was an energizing moment in our history.

I was the benefactor of immense efforts.

I earned a soccer scholarship, played in a National Championship, made a National Team, and went on to play professionally.

All this because I loved what I did and did what I loved.

Don’t get me wrong. I am continuing my journey. Things are still changing-opening and closing. Awakening and dying. Coming and going. I am in and out of states of unconscious ignorance. I am up and down with my moods and thoughts.

I taught skiing. Natural transition. Moved to Vail and start a new professional sports career.

One that included teaching and playing. All in nature, sustained by mountain energy! Ah!

And then came yoga. I had cross-trained with it throughout my soccer career. Now it became another “profession”. I became a “professor” of yoga!

It was all fun and games until I met my teacher.

And then, the work began.

Things became clear(er).

I could no longer hide behind my people pleasing patterns. I started to “see” myself for who I really was. I started to search for the hidden meaning in my life. I started to “realize” things. I became receptive to the Universal laws and principles and there was no turning back.

Things became clear(er).

Don’t get me wrong. I am continuing my journey. Things are still changing-opening and closing. Awakening and dying. Coming and going. I am in and out of states of unconscious ignorance. I am up and down with my moods and thoughts.

But, I have gained some experience. I have provided many with assistance in their lives.

And, now, I am here to share the knowledge with you.

With love,

Charry Shakti OM
