For Personal Processes.
Born in Colorado, growing up in San Diego, all I wanted to do was live in the sunshine, soak up the rays, and move my body.
I had the mountains and the ocean as my equal inspirations.
Within this setting, I played all sorts of sports. My mom fueled my passion for play and female empowerment.
Title IX came and changed the landscape for myself and countless others. It changed the dialog for our girls and changed the economy for youth sports.
Suddenly, it became more meaningful to be good at play.
It was an energizing moment in our history.
I was the benefactor of immense historical efforts.
I earned a soccer scholarship, played in a National Championship, made the U21 National Team, and went on to play professionally for 10 years.
All this because I loved what I did and did what I loved.
And, this is how yoga has informed my life. I loved it, so I did it- a lot. I trained at the yoga like I trained at becoming a professional soccer player- with intensity and drive.
So, after a couple of decades and an unusual path of study and practice, writing and teaching, I can honestly say that I am here for you.
